Asian Breeze announces Arizona Scouting League

The ASL will try to have 60 total players (30 from Japan and 30 from the US). It will be a great opportunity for Japanese players looking to be seen in front of US scouts as well as US players who are looking for an opportunity to play overseas.

Asian Breeze will host an inaugural tryout league “Arizona Scouting League” (The ASL) in Yuma, Arizona on February 2022. The ASL will connect players to both professional baseball leagues in Japan and U.S. for opportunities to sign for 2022 season.

The ASL will be held at Rays Kroc Baseball Complex in Yuma, Arizona. Three teams (60 players from U.S. and Japan) will be playing games for twelve days. All managers and coaches come from independent baseball leagues in Japan and US. Therefore, they will be able to sign players anytime during the league if they would like to. Also, MLB and NPB scouts come to be a part of the ASL. Therefore, the ASL will be the only league that will provide the opportunities to sign teams in the world.

■ Qualification

Player has to be over the age of 16 after February 24th, 2022.

■ Registration Fees

Plan 1 $1,980.00 with housing (two players per room)

Plan 2 $1,300.00 without housing

      *Due by December 31st, 2021

*The minimum number of players required for the league is 30. If there are less than 30 players, the league will be cancelled and players will get full refund.

Asian Breeze who hosts the ASL is the traveling baseball club that provides the opportunity to sign professional contracts for free agent players (25 players each year) throughout playing games against MLB organizations, Mexican baseball teams (LMB), Korean baseball teams (KBO) and more in Arizona from the end of February to mid-March. For the past two years of the program, Asian Breeze has had a total of 50 players from 5 countries and 15 players have singed professional contracts in 4 countries and another 15 players also got the opportunity to play for amateur leagues like summer league in US and Canada.

PIONEER BASEBALL LEAGUE ANNOUNCES PROSPECT COMBINE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CALIFORNIA WINTER LEAGUE

November 6 Scouting Event at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia

The Pioneer Baseball League today announced that it will hold a Prospect Combine in partnership with the California Winter League (CWL) on Saturday November 6th at Mercer University’s Claude Smith Field in Macon, Georgia.

“The Pioneer League is very excited to be partnering with the California Winter League for this combine camp,” said Pioneer League Vice President Henry Hunter. “We are looking forward to working with the CWL on a number of player development opportunities going forward, so this is a great first step for our relationship.”

The Atlantic League’s Stan Cliburn, Manager of the Maryland Blue Crabs, will run the combine. The coaching staff will include Pioneer League Managers Tommy Thompson of the Great Falls Voyagers and
Michael Schlact of the 2021 PBL Champion Missoula PaddleHeads.

“The CWL’s goal has always been to put players in front of decision makers. Working with the Pioneer League and managers like Stan Cliburn at this combine event creates another great opportunity for free agents to get on a professional team’s radar,” said Andrew Starke, CWL President.

The combine will start at 9:30 AM on November 6th. It will feature workouts and skills evaluations for players, followed by a simulated game for selected players. For more details on the tryout go to:

Since 1939, the Pioneer League has operated in the Mountain West
region. Beginning in 2021, the PBL became a Major League Baseball Professional Partner League with teams in Montana (Billings, Missoula and Great Falls), Idaho (Boise and Idaho Falls), Utah (Ogden) and Colorado (Grand Junction and Colorado Springs). The Northern Colorado Owlz, formerly the Orem Owlz, and an expansion team in Flathead County, MT will join the League for the 2022 season.
