A new social network, Reekroot, is looking to connect baseball and softball players with coaches around the world.
Their website describes it as:
A Baseball & Softball recruiting & scouting social network connecting athletes to coaches. No more dealing with recruiting salesman, costly services or long waits wondering what coaches are thinking. REEKROOT connects coaches to athletes.
The social network can be used by professional athletes who are free agents – released affiliated players, independent players, or non-drafted college players.
Players can update profiles daily to provide links to stats and upload videos and scouting reports to bolster their profile.
In addition, professional coaches and GMs from all over the world (MLB, U.S Independent, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Europe, Puerto Rico, Dominican and Venezuela) are able to create a profile and can even search for exactly what they are looking for in a player -just put in attributes and get a list of profiles with players matching that description. An example would be an indy ball coach searching for a 6’5″ 220lb RHP with command of 4 pitches.
Right now, Reekroot is running a special. Athletes can sign up now until November 11, 2015 and get a FREE lifetime membership to the social network.
For more information check out Reekroot for PRO ATHLETES.
Kayla, I am still very interested in staying the the great game of baseball, and regardless of the fiasco in Springfield, there were not any coaches who felt it was not going to work. Can I use your Indy Ball Chatter to let people know of my interest in a coaching or managing job? Thanks.
