The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) is the top tier professional baseball league in Taiwan with four teams in this top division (Rakuten Monkeys, Chinatrust Brothers, Uni-President Lions and Fubon Guardians). The skill level in the CPBL is close to Double A here in the MiLB.
Their league started the season on April 11th… in empty stadiums filled with cardboard and mannequin fans, complete with a robot band! It is definitely interesting to watch, but honestly if you are a fan of baseball, you will get into the game and not even notice the empty stands.
Americans are able to watch the online streams for free. Weekday games start at 6:30 AM EST time, and weekend games start at 5:00 AM EST time.
